Augmented drones are unmanned aircraft systems, known as UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) or UASes (Unmanned Aircraft Systems). They can fly autonomously or they can be remotely controlled.
Wesrom has noticed an increase in demand for drone technologies and drone enhancement, as well as custom-built AR, which we embraced through the various projects we've undertaken.
Currently, the main use cases for augmented drones lay within the logistics, surveillance, and military sectors. As an example, surveillance drones can be equiped with HD cameras, alongside dedicated software that allows it to more swiftly and accurately analyze its environment than a human could.
The custom-built software can also have aspects of augmented reality, allowing drones to feed back useful information, such as warnings or descriptions, in real-time during their flight.
